How To Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day The Right Way

Whether or not you have Irish in your blood, there is simply no denying the awesomeness of St. Patrick’s Day. If you’re as excited about the holiday as we are, this post is for you.

Have a Happy and Safe St. Patrick’s Day

We can’t wait to pull out all of our favorite green attire and let the St. Paddy’s festivities begin. Luckily, we have some experience with this March holiday. Over the years, we’ve picked up a few tips and tricks for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day the right way. Here are just a few of them.

Enjoy Responsibly

friends-with-beerWe have no problem with having a couple of drinks–heck; we encourage it. As long as you’re enjoying yourself responsibly, that is. If you plan on partaking in the St. Paddy’s Day fun and indulging in an adult beverage or two, we recommend having a plan for how you’ll get home. Whether you have a friend pick you up, or arrange for a paid ride, you should have something lined up before you go out. This is the surest and safest way to make sure you’re not scrambling to find a way home at the end of the night – or day. If you can convince someone in your group to be the designated driver–even better.

Make Sure You and Your Friends have a Plan

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: planning is crucial for an enjoyable St. Patrick’s Day celebration. If you think you’ll want to make a few stops and don’t plan on staying in one place all night–figure that out ahead of time. Which places will you go? And, most importantly, how will you get there?

Start up a group chat with your friends and get everyone talking about it. Come up with a plan and a schedule, determining which places you’ll visit and when. Make sure you’re all on the same page as to what the schedule is. This way, if anyone gets separated from the group, it’ll be easy for them to find you again.

Pace Yourself

We think this one is pretty self-explanatory, but that doesn’t make it any less important. Going all out within in the first hour is a sure fire way to have yourself in bed (or worse) before the fun even begins. Set a leisurely pace for yourself and don’t forget to stay loaded up on snacks and water as the festivities progress. If you’re not surrounded by great food on this holiday, you’re definitely not doing it right.

Eat Delicious Food

Mmmm. We can already smell the corn beef and cabbage. This might be the best part about St. Patrick’s Day. Although it’s hard to pick just one. There are so many things to love.

On this Irish holiday, if there is one tradition you should participate in, it is indulging yourself with delicious food. It’s good for the soul, and your tastebuds will thank you. Trust us.

Have Fun

Above all, the main objective of the day (or night) should be for you to enjoy yourself. It’s a holiday, and that means you should be stressing less. Not more. If you’ve taken each of these steps and planned accordingly, we can almost guarantee you’ll have a St. Patrick’s Day for the books.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from your friends at Bull Creek Distillery in Spring Hill, KS!
